It seems like not long ago that Cooper Kupp was coming into the NFL as a fan-favorite after being selected by the Rams in the third round. The Eastern Washington product quickly had an impact as a rookie in 2017 before continuing his upward trend in 2018 and 2019.
Somehow, he’s already entering his fourth season in the league, which also means it’s the final year of his contract. Kupp will become a free agent after this season if he doesn’t sign an extension beforehand, which has Rams fans worried.
What should encourage fans is the fact that Kupp clearly wants to stay in Los Angeles and has grown comfortable within the organization. On a conference call with reporters Friday, Kupp said he’s leaving contract talks to his agent, but doesn’t want to play anywhere else.
Regarding contract extension talks, Rams WR Cooper Kupp said he's "staying out of it" and letting his agent handle it.
"I'm obviously incredibly grateful to be here, to be able to play for a great organization. I love it here. I don't want to go anywhere."

Kupp really broke out last season with 94 catches for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was on just as strong of a pace in 2018 before getting hurt, catching 40 passes for 566 yards and six touchdowns in only eight games – two of which he only played part of.
As long as Kupp continues to play the way he has in the last two seasons, he’s going to cash in as one of the 10 highest-paid wide receivers in the league. With the Rams lacking cap space, however, giving him a huge contract could prove difficult.
