Cooper Kupp clarifies Brandin Cooks’ seemingly cryptic tweet

Brandin Cooks wasn’t asking to be freed by the Rams.

Brandin Cooks has been at the center of trade rumors this offseason as the Rams have reportedly fielded calls from other teams interested in acquiring him. His social media activity has added fuel to the fire, liking tweets about reuniting with Tom Brady and sharing cryptic posts on his Instagram story.

Cooks tweeted something Friday that could have been taken as him angling for a trade out of Los Angeles, simply writing “Free me” with a facepalm emoji.

For concerned fans, the first thought was that Cooks wants to be traded. And that’s exactly how many Rams fans responded, asking Cooks for clarification.

However, Cooper Kupp clarified that Cooks is simply talking about being freed from quarantine due to the coronavirus outbreak, not asking for a trade out of Los Angeles.

Cooks replied to Kupp’s tweet, essentially confirming that’s what Cooks meant by saying “free me.”

No need to panic, Rams fans. Cooks isn’t going anywhere or asking to be traded … for now. A deal could still happen at some point this offseason, since nothing is out of the question with Les Snead.
