Michigan State hockey hired Adam Nightingale as their new head coach a couple of weeks ago, and now we know some more on the contract details.

Adam Nightingale was introduced as the new head coach of Michigan State hockey in early May. He reportedly signed a “five-year rolling deal with an annual base salary of no less than $385,000”, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press.

Nightingale is coming to Michigan State after two seasons as head coach at the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP). Prior to that he was an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings.

Michigan State hockey has struggled for the better part of the last decade, with the Spartans finishing 12-23-1 this past season. Nightingale will be tasked with rebuilding the program and getting the Spartans back to national relevancy after a brutal recent stretch.
