One of the moves the Arizona Cardinals made so far in free agency this offseason is to bring back running back Corey Clement on a one-year contract.
Over the Cap has the details of the contract.
It is pretty simple, although the Cardinals do get salary cap relief from the contract.
His deal is for the league minimum at $1.08 million. He has no guarantees or signing bonus.
Additionally, it apparently qualifies for the veteran salary benefit. Instead of counting $1.08 million against the salary cap in 2023, it will count $940,000.
They get $140,000 in cap relief.
Clement will have to compete to make the roster but his play on special teams last season and the return of special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Jeff Rodgers helps his case.
