Contract details for Cardinals’ 6th-round pick Tay Gowan

The sixth-round cornerback received a signing bonus of more than $130,000.

The Arizona Cardinals’ two sixth-round draft picks signed their contracts recently. One of the two players to sign was cornerback Tay Gowan, who was selected 223rd overall in the draft. The team now has five of their seven selections in the draft under contract for the next four seasons.

We now know the details of those deals.

The information is from SI.com’s Howard Balzer.

As for Gowan, it was clear his contract would be the same as each compensatory pick at the end of the sixth round and it was: $3,610,704 with a signing bonus of $130,704.

His salary cap hit in 2021 if he makes the 53-man roster will be more than $692,000

His 2021 salary will be $660,000 and will increase to $825,000, $940,000 and $1.055 million the next three seasons.

He has a full split contract for his first two seasons, Balzer told me. It means that his salary drops to $415,000 if he is on injured reserve in 2021 or 2022.
