Concession lines at Torrey Pines for the U.S. Open are crazy long

Hungry or thirsty at the U.S. Open? Be prepared to wait.

Snacks and concessions seem to taste better at sporting events, don’t they?

Sure, you can grill a tasty hot dog and pour yourself an ice-cold drink at home, but let’s be real, a dog at the turn or a beer at a ballgame are undeniably better.

If you’re a spectator in the gallery at the 121st U.S. Open this week at Torrey Pines in San Diego, be prepared to wait for your refreshment. For a long while.

During Thursday’s opening round of play, Twitter user @AJVoelpel shared a video of a concession stand – named Fan Oasis To-Go, ironically enough – with a line so long you couldn’t see the end.

If you’re planning to attend any of the next three rounds, you might want to make sure you’re properly hydrated. It might take you a minute to snag a water snack.
