Comparing Tua Tagovailoa’s WRs: Alabama vs. Miami Dolphins

Former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa will play with a new set of WRs for the Miami Dolphins, but where do they stack up to what he’s used to?

Ruggs size:

Height: 6-0 Weight: 190

Williams size:

Height: 6-5 Weight: 218

When looking at the size comparisons between the two players, it may seem like this was a mistake. Don’t worry, it wasn’t.

There is one aspect of Ruggs’ game that shines much brighter than everything else: his speed.

Ruggs ran a 4.27 at the 2020 NFL combine, Williams ran a 4.53 at the Colorado State Pro-Day in 2019.

Williams is about to enter his second year in the NFL, both with Miami, and is expected to be the next breakout star behind DeVante Parker on the roster.

His 2019 NFL draft profile lists strengths that are similar to those of Ruggs.

“Routes are rhythmic and effective,” says one.

If there’s one thing Tua loves, it’s the deep ball. It’s what put this name on the map when defeating Georgia in overtime for the 2018 National Championship and it’s what cemented his value as a first-round quarterback.

If he wants to go deep, he can. All he’ll have to do is look for Williams downfield, like he did for Ruggs, and call it a night.
