Commanders vs. Ravens: 3 reasons for optimism in Week 6

The Commanders and Ravens face off at M&T stadium in Baltimore on Sunday and the Commanders have three reasons for optimism ahead of Week 6.

The Washington Commanders face the Baltimore Ravens this week and look to continue their winning ways. The Commanders haven’t been this excited about a season or a quarterback in a very long time. And with everything the organization has been through, it’s about time they turned it into success.

This week will be a tough test for the Commanders as the Ravens are typically a solid team that is difficult to beat. But there is reason for Commanders fans to have hope.

Here are three reasons for optimism heading into Week 6.

Momentum is on their side

After losing their season opener, the Commanders have won four in a row. That kind of streak boosts morale in the locker room, in the front office, on the field, among the fans, everywhere. That kind of positive energy keeps the team on the same page, working toward the same goal, doing everything they can to make sure they aren’t the ones dropping the ball. Pun intended.

Forward momentum, seeing the fruits of your labor, make you want to keep those results coming. That is a huge benefit for the Commanders this week.

Jayden Daniels is the quarterback

Let’s be real: Daniels is the reason the Commanders are succeeding. Yes, the rest of the team matters, and they absolutely are part of it, but Daniels is responsible for 70% of the offensive production in 2024. He is practically willing this team to success, and right now, it’s working.

Baltimore’s pass defense is one of the NFL’s worst

It’s not just one of the NFL’s worst; it is the NFL’s worst. The Ravens have allowed over 1,500 yards through the air through five games, which is very uncharacteristic of a Baltimore defense that is typically one of the top defenses in the league.

Last week, Joe Burrow put up nearly 400 yards on the Ravens in a game that went to overtime. The Ravens still came out on top, but the Bengals are not the Commanders, and as long as the Commanders’ defense holds strong, this week’s outcome will be different for the Ravens.[lawrence-related id=103780,103789,103794]
