Commanders vs. Eagles: Wednesday injury report for Week 8

Four players miss practice for the Commanders as they prepare for the Eagles.

The Washington Commanders returned to the practice field Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Commanders hope to put last week’s ugly 14-7 loss to the New York Giants behind them and defeat one of the NFL’s top teams. Washington took Philly to the wire in Week 4 before losing 34-31 in overtime.

The Commanders listed nine players on the week’s first injury report, with four players missing practice. Things looked much better for the Eagles, who listed only three players, with one missing practice.

First, here’s the injury report for Washington:

  • G Saahdiq Charles: DNP (calf)
  • CB Kendall Fuller: DNP (NIR, veteran’s rest)
  • WR Curtis Samuel: DNP (foot)
  • LB Cody Barton: DNP (ankle)
  • G Sam Cosmi: Limited (hip)
  • TE Cole Turner: Limited (ankle)
  • DT Jonathan Allen: Full (knee)
  • DT Phidarian Mathis: Full (calf)
  • DE Montez Sweat: Full (finger)

Here is Philadelphia’s injury report:

  • CB Bradley Roby: DNP (shoulder)
  • DT Milton Williams: Limited (heel)
  • S Reed Blankenship: Full (ribs)

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts was wearing a brace on his knee in the second half of Sunday’s win over the Dolphins but isn’t listed on the injury report. That’s good news for the Eagles.
