Commanders QB Jayden Daniels breaks another record

Jayden Daniels breaks another NFL record.

Jayden Daniels has done it again. The Washington Commanders rookie quarterback was named the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for his performance in last week’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is the 10th time Daniels has won the award this season, establishing a new record. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger set the record in 2004 with nine wins, which Daniels tied last week.

The latest Rookie of the Week award comes one day after Daniels won his third FedEx Air Player of the Week this season. Daniels completed 24 of 39 passes for 258 and five touchdowns in the upset win over Philadelphia. He also led the Commanders with 81 rushing yards.

Daniels has the Commanders at 10-5 and on the brink of clinching a playoff berth. Washington can clinch a playoff spot before Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons before the game kicks off if the Carolina Panthers defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
