Commanders DE Chase Young ruled out of game vs. Cardinals

Young will miss at least the first couple of games of the season with a neck injury.

The Washington Commanders entered the weekend with two pass rushers listed as questionable for their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Their most talented has been downgraded.

The Commanders announced Saturday that Chase Young was downgraded to out.

He will miss at least a couple of weeks with a neck injury.

Young was the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year with 7.5 sacks. In 2021, he suffered a serious knee injury, tearing his ACL and patellar tendon. He played in only three games last season.

Entering this year, he finally began feeling explosive but now is dealing with the neck injury.

Had Young been able to play, his matchup against Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries would have been one to pay attention to.

The Cardinals are seven-point underdogs in the season opener.
