The Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons are tied 10-10 in their Week 12 game from FedEx Field.
The Falcons were impressive early, moving the ball down the field with their running game but Washington’s defense held, forcing a field goal to give Atlanta an early 3-0 lead.
The Commanders answered when quarterback Taylor Heinicke led a seven-play. 74-yard drive that ended with a 14-yard touchdown pass to rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. Robinson ran through the Falcons for the score.
Again, the Falcons responded. Quarterback Marcus Mariota, mixed with runs from running backs Tyler Allgeier, Cordarelle Patterson and Caleb Huntley, engineered an impressive 11-play, 77-yard drive that he finished with a four-yard touchdown pass to tight end MyCole Pruitt.
The Commanders drove the field again but bogged down the red zone, leading to a Joey Slye field goal to tie things at 10.
The Commanders stopped the Falcons on a fourth-down run late in the half, giving them the ball in Atlanta territory with less than 30 seconds remaining. However, Heinicke threw a costly interception, ending any chances of a late score.
Heinicke completed nine of 14 passes for 104 yards with one touchdown and interception. Mariota completed 11 of 14 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons rushed for 100 yards in the first half, while the Commanders ran for 44 yards.
Washington will receive the second-half kickoff.
