Colts WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs miss Wednesday’s practice with injuries

Colts WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman both did not practice on Wednesday as they work through injuries.

Not participating in practice on Wednesday for the Indianapolis Colts were wide receivers Michael Pittman and Josh Downs.

Downs is listed on the injury report as having a toe injury, which Nate Atkins of the Indy Star mentioned was something that he developed on Sunday in Jacksonville. Pittman is working through a back injury.

Downs has been a go-to target the last two weeks for backup quarterback Joe Flacco. In those two games against Pittsburgh and Jacksonville, Downs has 21 targets, 17 receptions, and 151 yards with a score.

Pittman, meanwhile, has 16 targets during that same two-game span, 11 receptions for 150 yards, and a touchdown. This includes a pair of explosive pass plays with Anthony Richardson at quarterback against the Steelers that eventually resulted in two touchdowns for the Colts’ offense.

As of now, the injuries and knowing that neither player did not practice is all the information that we have right now.

The Colts will be back on the practice field on Thursday at which point, depending on if either player returns, we will get a bit of a better idea on where things stand. But any time a player misses practice it is noteworthy.

Also out was Trey Sermon with a collar bone injury, Jonathan Taylor with an ankle, and Braden Smith with a knee. Returning were Ryan Kelly, Kwity Paye, and Kenny Moore. Anthony Richardson was a limited participant.
