The Indianapolis Colts activated wide receiver Malik Henry from the reserve/COVID-19 list and then waived him, the team announced Wednesday.
Henry was one of the first players to be placed on the COVID list two weeks ago when the Colts returned for training camp. After getting two negative tests, Henry was set to return. But the Colts need to keep the roster at 80 players so they waived him.
Henry was a long shot to make the roster. The first four spots on the wide receiver depth chart are locked in with T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman Jr., Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal. Then the final one or two spots will be fought for by the likes of Marcus Johnson, Daurice Fountain, Ashton Dulin and Dezmon Patmon.
With Henry now off of the COVID list, the Colts currently have no players on that list.
