The Indianapolis Colts announced on Saturday prior to their Week 18 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that they waived cornerback Chris Lammons.
The team made this move in order to make room on the 53-man roster for cornerback JuJu Brents, who was activated off injured reserve.
Lammons began the 2024 season on the Colts’ practice squad but was signed to the 53-man roster following Week 1 after Brents was placed on injured reserve at that time.
Lammons primary role came on special teams, where he’s played 190 snaps across five different phases. Those 190 snaps were the seventh-most on the Colts’ team this season and he ranked sixth in tackles.
Defensively, Lammons appeared in five games, playing 95 snaps, with 85 of those snaps coming in Weeks 4 and 5 when filling in for an injured Kenny Moore.
Lammons also spent the 2023 season with the Colts after spending the previous three with Kansas City. He went undrafted in 2018 out of South Carolina.
The Colts’ cornerback room on the 53-man roster now consists of Moore, Brents, Jaylon Jones, Samuel Womack, and David Long Jr.
