The Indianapolis Colts weren’t awarded any compensatory picks for the upcoming 2020 NFL draft, but that doesn’t mean their order wasn’t impacted by other teams.
As 15 teams were awarded additional picks in the draft, the Colts’ draft order on Day 3 will change from what it was earlier in the offseason. Not only did the Colts not get any extra picks, but most of their Day 3 selections will also be later in the draft.

Here’s an updated draft order for the Colts in the 2020 NFL draft:
- Round 1 | No. 13 overall
- Round 2 | No. 34 overall (from WAS)
- Round 2 | No. 44 overall
- Round 3 | No. 75 overall
- Round 4 | No. 122 overall
- Round 5 | No. 160 overall
- Round 6 | No. 193 overall
- Round 7 | No. 227 overall
The Colts also reportedly lost their sixth-round conditional pick from the trade with the New York Jets that involved cornerback Nate Hairston before the 2019 regular season. But that has yet to be announced by the team.
We know Chris Ballard loves to build through the draft. They currently sit with eight selections and three in the top-45. But don’t be surprised if Ballard tries to find a way to add one or two more picks before the draft. He’s always looking to add draft capital.
The Colts will continue to build the roster through the draft in what is the biggest offseason in recent history.
