The Indianapolis Colts used nine selections during the 2020 NFL Draft but still had to make some moves immediately following the big event by signing 10 undrafted rookie free agents.

While most of these players will be cut by the time the regular season rolls around, the Colts have somewhat of a tradition when it comes to UDFAs. Over the last 21 seasons, the Colts have had at least one UDFA make the roster—the longest active streak in the NFL.
But how strong is the class? Thor Nystrom of Rotoworld came out with his rankings of each UDFA class, and the Colts came in at No. 22.
The Colts’ class is headlined by Lou Groza award winner Rodrigo Blackenship. Everyone’s favorite NCAA kicker, what with those Michael “Squints” Palledorous glasses under his helmet as he lined up to kick in enormous spots for the Georgia Bulldogs, Blackenship holds the UGA record with an 82.5% career field goal percentage. He’ll take on second-year UDFA K Chase McLaughlin for the right to replace Adam Vinatieri. I like Rodrigo’s odds.
Blankenship is the biggest name in the class for the Colts and the player most likely to make the team if he can beat out McLaughlin for the kicking role.
Though the group is mostly filled with unknowns, defensive end Kendall Coleman is another name to watch. An edge rusher from Syracuse, Coleman has ties to Robert Mathis having worked with him during the pre-draft process.
It will be interesting to see if any of the UDFAs make it, but the storyline of the streak will certainly be something to watch.
