Coutee was a candidate to make the initial 53-man roster but was edged out by Dezmon Patmon and Mike Strachan. A shift slot receiver, Coutee also can play a role on special teams as a return man.
Coutee was a fourth-round pick with the Houston Texans in the 2018 NFL draft. After three seasons with the Texans, he joined the Colts practice squad following roster cuts before the 2021 season.
He spent the majority of the season on the practice squad and returned to the offseason roster following the 2021 season.
