Colts targeting Christmas Day return for WR Parris Campbell

Colts are hoping for a Christmas Day return for WR Parris Campbell.

The Indianapolis Colts are hoping to see the return of wide receiver Parris Campbell this season and there is some hope that the speedy wideout can return Christmas Day from the injured reserve list.

Campbell went on the injured reserve list after suffering a broken foot on a 51-yard touchdown catch against the Houston Texans in Week 6. He underwent surgery shortly after with the slim hope he could return.

Per Zak Keefer of The Athletic, it seems the Colts have optimism that the former second-round pick can come back for that Week 16 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Colts have been sorely lacking depth in the wide receiver room behind Michael Pittman Jr., who is enjoying a solid breakout season. Behind Pittman Jr., there hasn’t been an emergence of a reliable option in either the wide receiver or tight end room.

Campbell was still pretty boom/bust during his four games this season with Carson Wentz, but the upside is still there for him to make an impact during the stretch run for the playoffs.

We’ll see what happens with Campbell’s potential return, and it seems that could be as early as Week 16.
