Colts sign RB Tyler Goodson to one-year contract extension

The Colts announced on Monday that they’ve re-signed RB Tyler Goodson to a one-year extension.

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Monday that they’ve signed running back Tyler Goodson to a one-year extension for the 2025 season.

Goodson made the Colts’ 53-man roster this season and was the third running back on the depth chart when everyone was healthy behind Jonathan Taylor and Trey Sermon.

Goodson appeared in 15 games on offense this season, playing 132 total snaps. This included playing 29 snaps, 27 snaps, and 30 snaps in the Colts Weeks 5-7 games when Taylor was sidelined.

Production-wise, he averaged 4.8 yards per rush on 32 carries with a touchdown. As a pass-catcher, Goodson caught 11-of-14 passes at 5.5 yards per catch with another touchdown and was often trusted in pass protection.

Goodson also played 174 special teams snaps across four different phases as well.

Jonathan Taylor is still under contract but Sermon is set to be a free agent in 2025. The running back position is one that the Colts should look to add to this offseason in an effort to bolster the depth behind Taylor.
