Colts sign Quenton Nelson to record deal

The Colts make Quenton Nelson the highest-paid guard in NFL history.

The Indianapolis Colts and left guard Quenton Nelson have agreed to a record-setting four-year contract extension, first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schefter reported the four-year deal is worth $80 million with $60 million guaranteed. He is now the highest-paid guard in NFL history.

Nelson has been everything the Colts have wanted when they selected him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. He’s earned three All-Pro First Team and four Pro Bowl selections since entering the NFL. He has missed only three games in his career, all of which came in 2021.

With Nelson now under contract, the Colts have signed five of their draft picks in 2018 to multi-year contract extensions. That includes linebacker Shaquille Leonard, right tackle Braden Smith, linebacker Zaire Franklin and running back Nyheim Hines.
