The Indianapolis Colts signed quarterback Anthony Richardson to a four-year rookie deal, the team announced Monday. The contract includes a fifth-year team option.
Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick from the 2023 NFL draft, will enter training camp this week competing for the starting quarterback role with veteran Gardner Minshew.
The deal is fully-guaranteed for $33.99 million and a $21.72 million signing bonus.

The two split reps during OTAs and minicamp during the spring workouts, but the battle for the starting role should intensify during the month of August when the preseason rolls around.
Richardson has the highest ceiling of any player in the 2023 NFL draft, but his inexperience will lead to some growing pains whenever he takes over the starting role.
Regardless, the most important piece of the draft class is now under contract, and the Colts can begin diving deeper into his development.
