Colts showing heavy interest in OT Ezra Cleveland

Ezra Cleveland appears to be on the Colts radar.

Even though free agency has yet to begin, the Indianapolis Colts are preparing to build their big board for the 2020 NFL draft, which should include plenty of offensive tackles.

Among the prospects the Colts have shown heavy interest in is Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland. After an outstanding showing at the NFL scouting combine in Indy, the Colts formally met with Cleveland and had a private workout with him, per Justin Melo of Draft Wire.

Cleveland’s draft stock soared after the combine. He crushed the testing in Indy and exceeding expectations in drills that historically have led to players having success in the league.

Here’s a look at his spider chart showing just how high Cleveland tested during the combine. His percentiles are off the charts and should be regarded as one of the most athletic offensive linemen in the draft.

One of the biggest indicators for athletic movements in offensive linemen is the 20-yard shuttle. Test well there, and the chances of a successful NFL career are raised significantly.

Not only did Cleveland lead offensive linemen at the combine with a 4.46 in the 20-yard shuttle, but he also tested in the 94th percentile in the drill since 2000.

Cleveland also has the size (6’6, 311) and arm length (33 3/8″) to be a successful offensive tackle. Of course, he still has to develop his game. While his movement skills are extraordinary, Cleveland still needs to add strength and is a raw prospect when looking at the whole picture.

Cleveland could see his stock rise quickly over the next month or so, and it seems the Colts at least have interest in the Boise State product.
