Colts remain 3.5-point underdogs to Broncos in Week 5

The Colts remain underdogs going into Thursday night.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-2-1) hit the road on a short week, visiting the Denver Broncos (2-2) for a matchup on Thursday night.

As the Colts continue to be a volatile team, the Broncos also are trying to find their footing with a new quarterback and coaching staff. Entering the week as underdogs, the Colts remain so going into Thursday night.

Here are the updated betting odds for the Week 5 matchup in prime time, according to Tipico Sportsbook:

Spread Moneyline Total Points
Indianapolis Colts (1-2-1) +3.5 +150 O 42.5
-108
Denver Broncos (2-2) -3.5 -180 U 42.5
-112

The spread for the game hasn’t changed while the moneyline moved slightly in favor of the Colts from the opening odds earlier in the week. The total for the game dropped two full points, likely due to the injuries surrounding the young running backs on either side, Jonathan Taylor and Javonte Williams.

Over at Tallysight, 73% of experts are siding with the Broncos to win the game while covering the spread. Meanwhile, 62% of the experts see the game going under the total.

Without Taylor in the lineup for the Colts, the offense may need to lean on Matt Ryan more than usual. His ball security issues and the fact that he’s taken 15 sacks and 33 quarterback hits don’t bode well going up against Bradley Chubb.

The Broncos offense has had its struggles as well, averaging the fourth-fewest points per game to open the season. They scored a season-high 23 points in their Week 4 loss, a mark the Colts have yet to hit this season.

This is a big game for two teams looking to right the ship and gain some momentum as the second half of the season approaches.
