Indy’s uniforms ranked highly by USA TODAY.

The Indianapolis Colts have boasted an iconic ensemble of a uniform for years and it has garnered them praise for keeping the traditional look while finding ways to modernize the uniform.

With subtle changes coming with the logo in 2020, the Colts were ranked sixth in the NFL uniform power rankings, conducted by Nate Davis of USA TODAY. Here’s what he had to say:

The famed horseshoe on the headgear still evokes memories of Unitas, Manning and Luck. The new changes nicely honor the font used from the franchise’s Baltimore days with a secondary logo that celebrates Indiana. Props.

While some teams like the Los Angeles Rams and Tamp Bay Buccaneers have re-done their entire uniform slate, the Colts haven’t had to change much over the years.

They’ve made some subtle changes, though. The most recent has come in the form of a secondary logo—one that pays homage to the state of Indiana.

It doesn’t appear any major changes will be coming to the uniform anytime soon, but it also doesn’t appear any changes are needed to one of the cleanest looks in football.
