There was a bit of a scare Thursday when Indianapolis Colts All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson was listed on the injury report as a non-participant due to a back injury.
However, the former No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 draft returned to practice on Friday and seeing that the injury statuses are released later in the day, it bodes well for his availability on Sunday.
Exhale, Colts fans. Quenton Nelson is here at practice. All is well.

The Colts offensive line gets a big boost from Nelson each week. He’s arguably the best guard in the NFL and since his arrival in 2018, the unit has simply had a different mentality.

While Nelson looks good to make his season debut with the rest of the team, there are still a few more players that will likely be questionable for the Week 1 opener.
Left tackle Anthony Castonzo (oblique) and center Ryan Kelly (knee) have been limited in both practices this week and weren’t seen on the field to begin Friday’s session. Defensive end Justin Houston (calf) and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton were also not seen.
It should be noted that the Colts typically use Friday as a rest day for veterans so we won’t really know the status of players until the official injury report is released.
Guys I didn’t see at practice today:
-Anthony Castonzo (oblique)
-T.Y. HiltonJustin Houston (calf) and Ryan Kelly (knee) were present but watching.
FWIW, Friday is typically when a lot of veterans rest.

Head coach Frank Reich will speak to reporters following Friday’s practice so we will get a better idea of game statuses of these injured Colts.
