Colts QB Anthony Richardson (concussion) making progress ahead of Rams game

Anthony Richardson missed Week 3 with a concussion but he’s making progress and could start Sunday against the Rams

For the second week in a row, the Rams’ opposing team has questions at quarterback. Last week, Joe Burrow was questionable to play against Los Angeles on Monday night but he wound up playing and leading the Bengals to a win.

This week, it’s Anthony Richardson who’s uncertain to play. He suffered a concussion in Week 2 and missed the Colts’ third game of the season, but he could be back for Indianapolis this Sunday.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Richardson is making progress and though he’s still in the concussion protocol, he’s expected to take first-team snaps in practice Wednesday.

Richardson is a talented rookie out of Florida, and he’s already displayed his unique running ability by rushing for three touchdowns in a game and a half. He’s also thrown one touchdown pass, as well as one interception, but the talent is undoubtedly there for the Colts’ franchise quarterback.

If Richardson can’t clear the protocol by Sunday, it’ll be Gardner Minshew under center again after he led the Colts to a win over the Ravens in Week 3.
