Colts QB Anthony Richardson, 5 others questionable vs Giants

The Colts haven’t ruled any players out for Week 17 but they do have 6 players, including Anthony Richardson, as questionable.

The Indianapolis Colts have released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 17 matchup with the New York Giants.

Here is a look at which players have injury designations and the potential impact on Sunday’s game:

Anthony Richardson (back/foot), Questionable: Richardson did not practice at all this week but the Colts aren’t ready to rule him out just yet. Shane Steichen said on Friday they will see how he’s feeling over the next 48 hours with the back injury being the bigger problem for him as he deals with soreness. For what it’s worth, it’s not been common practice for a Colts player to miss all three days of practice and then play on Sunday.

EJ Speed (knee), Questionable: Speed returned to practice on Friday for the first time since prior to Week 15 after not playing last week against the Titans. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, which is generally a good sign.

Jaylon Carlies (shoulder), Questionable: Carlies played all but one defensive snap on Sunday and led the team in tackles. However, this shoulder injury has lingered with Carlies being on last week’s injury report with shoulder/fibula injuries as he returned from IR. Carlies was a full participant in Friday’s practice, which again, can be a good sign.

Mo Alie-Cox (toe), Questionable: Like Speed, Alie-Cox returned to the practice field for the first time on Friday and was a full participant. Although he was navigating through a different injury a week ago (a hip), Alie-Cox did still play against the Titans after missing the first two days of practice that week as well. In a game where there should be a run-centric approach for the Colts’ offense, Alie-Cox will play a key role.

Quenton Nelson (ankle), Questionable: Nelson briefly exited the Tennessee game with an ankle injury but quickly returned and finished out the four quarters. He was particularly good in that game as a run blocker. However, after being estimated as a full participant during Wednesday’s walkthrough, Nelson was downgraded to a limited participant on Thursday and maintained that status on Friday. When Nelson left the game, it was Tanor Bortolini who stepped in for him.

JuJu Brents (knee), Questionable: When asked about Brents’ status, Steichen said, “we’ll see.” Brents was a full participant all three days this week and has had two full weeks of practice since being designated to return from IR, which generally is a good sign. If he plays, I would expect Jaylon Jones and Sam Womack to start, with Jones being eased back in during certain situations.
