The Indianapolis Colts (6-3) will be looking to continue their run toward a playoff spot but standing in their way for Week 11 will be Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (7-2).
The NFC North leaders have featured one of the best offenses in the league thanks to a resurgent season from Rodgers, who is easily the best quarterback on the Colts’ schedule for the 2020 campaign.
Though they have faced the likes of Lamar Jackson and Ryan Tannehill, none have played like Rodgers this season. Head coach Frank Reich had nothing but praise for the 36-year-old.
“Rodgers is unbelievable,” Reich said Monday to reporters. “I thought Jacksonville really played lights out. They really played hard. That’s what stuck out to me, is how hard Jacksonville played. I really felt like it was Jacksonville playing a great game and doing some good things. On the other side of the ball, we just know that Green Bay is one of the top teams in this league, has been for the last couple years and a very dangerous team. I just think the world of the Rodgers, I just think he’s a unique player.”
Even though Rodgers’ production hit a snag in the last few seasons from a statistical standpoint, he’s always been dangerous. The two-time All-Pro has completed 67.8% of his passes for 2,578 yards, 26 touchdowns and just three interceptions. His 116.4 passer rating currently leads the NFL.
For reference, Rodgers hasn’t surpassed 26 passing touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. He’s hit that mark in nine games in 2020.
Rodgers has been incredible despite losing Davante Adams for two games and despite the fact that the Packers did nothing to give him help in the draft. They didn’t select a wide receiver and they used their first and second-round picks on quarterback Jordan Love and running back A.J. Dillon—both of which have rarely seen the field.
The Colts have a big test ahead of them in Week 11. They may be favored but if Rodgers continues his dominant play, the Packers could very well come out on top in this one.
