Offensive lineman Jared Veldheer has had a wild ride over the past couple of days but now he’s watching from the sideline after being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list due to a positive test.
On Tuesday. per Packers Wire, Veldheer landed on that designation.
But wait, no, the Bills did not play the Packers in the Wild Card round? However, Veldheer was set to make history in the Divisional round.
The Bills hosted the Colts last weekend, who, only recently signed Veldheer to their practice squad in late December. He was talked out of retirement. Due to injury, he was called up from the Colts’ practice squad and started against the Bills. But because he was a callup and technically still on their practice squad, he was able to be signed by another team after losing and the Packers came calling, again, due to injury.
So in this weird twist, the Bills faced a player last weekend who was on the Colts, who is now on the Packers, and has been placed on the Reserve/COVID list.
As of now, there haven’t yet been any other Packers players to test positive for the virus. Perhaps a good sign, and Veldheer was cleared to play vs. the Bills so at this time, hopefully nothing else comes from the test result. The Bills haven’t had any players placed on the designation at this time, either.
