Despite the upset loss to being their season, the Indianapolis Colts are still favorites to open Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
After going on the road and failing to secure a win in Jacksonville, the Colts return to Lucas Oil Stadium for the home opener in front of an expected 2,500 fans.
Hosting the Minnesota Vikings, who also come off a Week 1 loss, the Colts open the new week as three-point home favorites, per BetMGM.
Even though the Colts were only able to score 20 points against the Jaguars defense, the projected total is pretty high for this matchup. At 48.5 points, this projected total is currently the fifth-highest of the week.
Both teams will be looking for a bounce-back game on Sunday. The Colts are coming off of an embarrassing loss in Jacksonville and just lost their starting running back in Marlon Mack for the rest of the season due to a torn Achilles tendon. They’ve already started looking for potential depth pieces in the backfield.
The Colts defense also had no answer for Jaguars second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew, who threw for three touchdowns and just one incompletion.
The Vikings struggled in Week 1 to contain Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense. They allowed Rodgers to set the field ablaze, completing 32-of-44 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns while wide receiver Davante Adams caught 14-of-17 targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
This will be a big week for both teams as they look to get back into the race for their division and for now, the Colts are slight home favorites for the matchup.
