The Indianapolis Colts officially hired Gus Bradley to be the new defensive coordinator, the team announced Monday.
Though it has been widely reported already, this is just making it official. With the team announcing the hire, they can now focus on building the defensive staff that will work under Bradley.
It will be interesting to see how the Colts go about building the defensive coaching staff. Four of their former assistants followed Matt Eberflus to the Chicago Bears while defensive line coach Brian Baker won’t have his contract renewed.
So with Bradley now leading the defensive coaching staff, the biggest transaction will be who he brings in to work with the defensive line. The pass rush should far and away be the biggest priority for Bradley and his staff.
The Colts defense has been solid during the tenure of Eberflus and now they’ll be looking to continue that success with a veteran coordinator leading the way.
