Colts news: What else happened in the AFC South in Week 3?

The Colts were able to secure a win in Week 3, but what else happened around the rest of the AFC South this week?

The Indianapolis Colts came away with the Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears to improve to 1-2. So what else happened around the AFC South this week?

Spoiler alert: It was a good week to be a Colts fan–not only did Indianapolis win, but their three divisional opponents all lost and did so by multiple scores.

The Houston Texans fell on the road to the Minnesota Vikings 34-7. As the final score indicates, it was tough sledding through the air and on the ground for the Texans offense, with CJ Stroud averaging a modest 6.9 yards per pass with one touchdown to two interceptions. In the run game, Houston totaled just 38 yards on 14 carries.

Vikings’ quarterback Sam Darnold threw four touchdown passes while Aaron Jones rushed for 102 yards. Justin Jefferson also had six receptions for 81 yards and a score.

The Tennessee Titans, meanwhile, would lose at home to the Green Bay Packers 30-14. The Packers offense was able to generate several explosive pass plays and totaled 188 rushing yards. On the flip side, the Tennessee offensive line surrendered a whopping eight sacks, seven of which came in the second half and Will Levis threw two more interceptions.

Lastly, the Jacksonville Jaguars were crushed on Monday night football by the Buffalo Bills, losing 47-10. Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen had an electric performance, completing 23-of-30 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Trevor Lawrence, however, was just 21-for-38 for 178 yards with a touchdown and an interception, along with being sacked five times.

So after three games, the Texans still sit at the top of the division at 2-1. The Colts are behind them at 1-2, while the Titans and Jaguars are 0-3.

Next up for each team, the Colts will be at home again to face Pittsburgh. The Jaguars will be on the road at Houston, while the Titans will travel to Miami.
