Colts News: What else happened in the AFC South during Week 1?

In Colts news, here is a look at what else happened around the AFC South during Week 1 of the regular season.

The Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans squared off in Week 1, but what else happened around the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans?

The Jaguars were on the road against the Miami Dolphins and jumped out to a 17-7 lead. However, the Miami comeback was sparked by an 80 yard catch-and-run touchdown from Tyreek Hill.

Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders would later tie the game on a 36-yard field goal and then made a 52-yard game-winner as time expired to send the Jaguars home with a loss.

For Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence finished the day completing 12-of-21 passes for 162 yards with a score. Tank Bigsby led the team in rushing with 73 yards at 6.1 yards per attempt, while Gabe Davis led the team in receiving with 62 yards at nearly 21 yards per reception.

The Titans, meanwhile, also jumped out to a lead over the Chicago Bears–17 to 3–but also like the Jaguars, were unable to hold on to it.

Although Caleb Williams and the Bears offense struggled, a blocked punt return for a touchdown and a pick-six put them right back into the game. Those scores plus a pair of Cairo Santos field goals in the second half would give the Bears the 24-17 win.

Titans’ quarterback Will Levis finished the day 19-of-32 passing for 127 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Tony Pollard recorded 82 rushing yards and Calvin Ridley had 50 receiving yards.

Through one game, the Texans sit at the top of the division on their own, with the Colts, Titans, and Jaguars all 0-1.

In Week 2, the Colts will play at Green Bay. The Titans are at home to face the New York Jets. The Jaguars are at home against Cleveland and the Texans are at home against the Bears.
