Indianapolis Colts linebacker Matthew Adams was ejected during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans for throwing a punch on a punt when disengaging from his blocker.
One of the core special teams players was disqualified from the game, and he feels his ejection was unjust. Adams tweeted after the game that he was practicing a simple club swim move in trying to disengage and get downfield for the punt.
The officials didn’t see it that way and hit him with an ejection early in Sunday’s game. Adams let his voice be heard and even brought some receipts with him.
I’ve definitely been practicing that simple club swim football move, that got me ejected today. Just trying to do the simple things better than anyone else. Life isn’t fair, just keep your head up pic.twitter.com/dCTxg7VUNF

Adams has been a core special teams player since the Colts drafted him in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft.
It will be something to monitor to see if the league hands down a fine, but Adams brings proof as to why he believes his ejection was unjust.
