Source: #Colts S Malik Hooker did, in fact, tear his Achilles and he’s out for the season. A tough loss to a stout Indy D.

Indianapolis Colts safety Malik Hooker suffered a torn Achilles in the 28-11 loss against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He will miss the remainder of the season.
This a brutal blow for Hooker, who entered the season with a lot to prove in a contract year. The Colts didn’t pick up his fifth-year option, which makes him a free agent following the conclusion of the 2020 season.
Now, the 24-year-old safety will likely hit free agency hoping a team will take a chance on him despite enduring a tough injury.
With Hooker now out for the season, the Colts are likely to turn to rookie Julian Blackmon, who played 63% of the snaps in Week 2 and was the main replacement for Hooker.
The Colts are likely to use a combination of Blackmon, George Odum and Tavon Wilson in the defensive backfield.
This is a disappointing end for Hooker, who very well could have played his final snaps with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
