Colts fire HC Frank Reich

BREAKING: Colts fire HC Frank Reich.

The Indianapolis Colts fired head coach Frank Reich, according to multiple reports Monday.

After their latest disaster in Foxboro, leading to a 26-3 loss, it was only a matter of time before Reich was going to get the boot. It seems owner Jim Irsay didn’t want to wait until after the season to make a move and instead has let Reich go halfway through the campaign.

While Reich will finish his tenure with a 40-33-1 record as head coach of the Colts, the nail in the coffin seemed to be Sunday’s loss against the Patriots. It marked the third time in a row the Colts lost and brought their record to 3-5-1 without any positive direction coming with the offense.

This is the first time in Irsay’s 25 years as the owner that he’s fired a coach midseason.

For a franchise that was seemingly stuck in the mud, going through the same cycle of retread quarterbacks, this move was seemingly going to happen sooner or later.

The Colts have yet to announce an interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
