Though he returned to practice for the first time since suffering a broken foot, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell isn’t expected to be activated from the injured reserve list for the Week 17 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Campbell was designated to return on Thursday and got two days of practice in this week. That said, the Colts have 21 days since designating him for return before has has to be activated so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they hold him out one more week.
Head coach Frank Reich told the media Friday that Campbell isn’t expected to be activated on Saturday, which is when the move would need to be made for Sunday’s game.
“Parris (Campbell) was out there practicing today. He looked good,” Reich said. “I doubt we’re going to activate him this week, but it was a good first step.”
After suffering a broken foot during a 51-yard touchdown catch against the Houston Texans in Week 6, Campbell has been working his way back. There was some hope that he would return in Week 16 against the Cardinals but that never came to fruition.
In five games this season, Campbell has 10 receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown.
