Colts’ Dennis Kelly to miss time with knee injury

Dennis Kelly is dealing with a knee injury.

Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Dennis Kelly is expected to miss some time during training camp due to a knee injury, head coach Frank Reich told reporters Tuesday.

Kelly has been working as a depth piece along the offensive line and while it doesn’t seem like this injury is serious on the surface, Reich expects to be without the versatile veteran for some time.

There was no timetable for return placed on the injury.

“Dennis (Kelly) has a knee that we’re evaluating. So that’s going to have him out for a little bit,” Reich said Tuesday.

Kelly was signed following the 2022 NFL draft. His versatility and experience were expected to be appealing traits for the Colts, but missing time during his first training camp with the team isn’t ideal.

As Matt Pryor leads the way at the left tackle competition and rookie Bernhard Raimann works with the second-team offense, Kelly was expected to be right behind them.

Hopefully, this injury doesn’t keep him off the field too much longer after missing Tuesday’s practice.
