The Indianapolis Colts made a blockbuster move on Monday by acquiring defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, adding an elite talent to the interior defensive line.
Turning 26 on Tuesday, Buckner also immediately signed a five-year deal that pays him $21 million per season, the second-highest AAV among defensive tackles. Suffice it to say, Buckner is eager to begin his new life with the Colts after giving love to the 49ers, the team that drafted him No. 7 overall in 2016.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Buckner thanked the 49ers and their fanbase for the last four years. He finished the post saying, “Colts Nation, I can’t wait to get this thing rollin! I’m bringing everything I got to Indy!!”
Buckner will be a big piece for Indy. He’s had production and reliability during his entire career. The Colts did have to give up a lot to get him, and they paid him handsomely, but that type of talent doesn’t come around often for teams.
Now that the Colts have their three-technique, it will be interesting to see what other moves they have in store for the remainder of the offseason.
