Colts’ Chris Ballard: ‘No trade going down right now’

Ballard denies Colts involvement in trade talks for Wentz.

There has been plenty of buzz surrounding the Indianapolis Colts being a potential trade partner for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, but general manager Chris Ballard denied that notion.

As a guest interview with Dan Dakich of 1070 The Fan, Ballard denied the Colts are involved in a trade going down Friday.

Granted, the rules state that Ballard can’t talk about players under contract with another team until the new league year begins. But it seems the Colts aren’t necessarily the frontrunner for Wentz.

The history between Frank Reich and Wentz makes this deal intriguing, especially given the need at quarterback. But there are questions as to what Wentz can bring to the table on his massive contract.

It remains to be seen if the Colts will be the ones to trade for Wentz but this will certainly be something to watch over the next few weeks.
