Colts are optimistic about Kwity Paye’s hamstring injury.

The Indianapolis Colts were without rookie defensive end Kwity Paye for their Week 4 win against the Miami Dolphins, but it appears they remain optimistic about a return soon.

Paye re-aggravated a hamstring injury that he had during training camp and the preseason but was able to play in the first three games of the season while starting at right defensive end.

He suffered the injury early on in the Week 3 loss against the Tennessee Titans and was forced to miss most of that game as well. However, head coach Frank Reich seems optimistic they could get Paye back soon.

The edge rush for the Colts has been lacking consistency, which seems to be an issue every year. Paye has serious upside and while he’s still getting his feet wet going against some top-tier left tackles, his presence is needed on the defensive line.

Paye will likely need to log a practice at some point over the weekend if he’s going to play against the Baltimore Ravens so be on the lookout for the injury reports over the next few days.
