The Indianapolis Colts activated wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. from the injured reserve list and waived wide receiver Daurice Fountain.
The move to activate Pittman Jr. was expected. It wasn’t a full guarantee that he would be activated this week but after practicing all three days coming out of the bye week, the Colts will get their second-round rookie back on the field.
Pittman Jr. has been on the injured reserve list since suffering leg compartment syndrome against the New York Jets in Week 3. He spent the next three games plus the bye week on injured reserve and now makes his return.
In three games played this season, Pittman Jr. has nine receptions for 73 yards.
Fountain wound up being a healthy scratch in Week 6 against the Bengals and after being waived, it is likely that the Colts will try to bring him back to the practice squad.
