The Indianapolis Colts activated left tackle Eric Fisher from the reserve/COVID-19 list and released defensive tackle Antwaun Woods, the team announced Monday.
Fisher was a positive test 10 days ago and remained on the reserve list throughout the roster cuts. However, getting him back to the active roster, the Colts had to make a corresponding move.
With 11 defensive linemen on the 53-man roster, it makes sense the Colts made a move at that position.
It isn’t yet clear if Fisher will be ready to go for Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. He is still working his way back from a torn Achilles in January but being on the active roster does seem encouraging for his timeline to return to game action.
This will certainly be something to monitor over the coming weeks, but Fisher is now officially on the active roster.
