With the Colts out of playoff contention, let’s look ahead to the 2025 NFL draft with prospects to watch in Ohio State vs. Oregon.

With the Indianapolis Colts now out of playoff contention, let’s take a moment to turn our attention to the 2025 NFL draft with the second round of the College Football playoffs underway.

Playing in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day will be Ohio State and Oregon. So, as the game unfolds, which prospects should you have your eyes on?

Trying to figure out at this stage of the game whether any of these players could become Colts is a nearly impossible task. But it does provide us with some names to monitor as the pre-draft process unfolds in the coming months.

Of note, the Colts will have seven draft picks–one in each round–and some positions of need include tight end, defensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback, safety, and running back.

With help from Pro Football Focus, who has already constructed a big board for the upcoming draft, here are the top prospects in Wednesday’s Ohio State vs. Oregon matchup:

WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State: Egbuka has 257 career targets over four seasons at Ohio State, including 81 this year. A primary slot receiver, he’s caught 74% of his targets this season at 12.4 yards per catch with nine touchdowns.

RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State: Judkins has carried the ball 146 times this season, averaging 5.5 yards per catch with eight touchdowns. He’s also caught 15 passes for 109 yards and another score.

LB Jeffrey Bassa, Oregon: An experienced player with over 2,300 career snaps, Bassa has done a bit of everything of the Oregon defense. He’s been a sound tackler, utilized as a blitzer, and has a good PFF coverage grade.

IDL Tyleik Williams, Ohio State: By PFF’s grading system, Williams has been one of the best run defenders in college football this season–an area where the Colts need depth.

IDL Derrick Harmon, Oregon: Harmon has generated 53 pressures this season, which is among the most at his position group.
