The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team added a commit to its 2023 class on Wednesday as forward/center Ruthie Loomis-Goltl from Bridgeport High School in Nebraska announced her decision.
At 6-foot-3, Loomis-Goltl averaged 20 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in her junior season (2021-22). She has been consistently successful in all three of her varsity seasons so far, averaging 19.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in 81 varsity contests.
Loomis-Goltl is already the all-time leading scorer and blocker for the Bridgeport Bulldogs with 1,545 points and 325 blocks in her career.
She has played the last two seasons at Bridgeport with her younger sister Olivia, a class of 2024 athlete. In those two seasons, the Bulldogs have compiled a 50-7 record and broke the school’s single-season win record with 26 last season. They also reached the Class-C2 state championship for the first time in program history, falling short of a victory by just two points (h/t Jeremy Woznick of the Star-Herald).
Loomis-Goltl has left no doubt about her talent at the high school level for the past three seasons, and it will be exciting to see how she develops as a player at Colorado.
