The Colorado Buffaloes men’s and women’s basketball teams are both off to strong starts and are looking good in terms of making their respective NCAA Tournaments.
The No. 7 Buffs women’s team just suffered its first loss of the season against ranked North Carolina State on Saturday in the Paradise Jam Classic with a final score of 78-60. Colorado’s offense went cold in the first and third quarters, scoring a combined 20 points.
Next up for head coach JR Payne’s squad is a Tuesday evening home game against Boston University, which is 5-1 with wins over Yale, Le Moyne, UMass Lowell, New Hampshire and Northern Colorado. The Terriers’ one loss came to Rider by three points on the road.
What the Terries do best is shoot the 3-point ball, averaging 34.9% as a team. They also average 4.7 blocks and 8.8 steals per game
Caitlin Weimar led the Terries against Northern Colorado and she is averaging 16.2 PPG and 10.4 rebounds this season. The senior forward should be tough to stop for the Buffs.
After losing their first game of the season, the Buffs have an opportunity to rebound against Boston University with just a few games left before the grueling Pac-12 Conference slate begins.
Tipoff between the Buffs and Terriers is set for 6 p.m. MT. The game will be streamed online at CUBuffs.com/WatchWBB.
