By signing with the Buffs on Sunday, Missouri transfer Sara-Rose Smith took the final open spot on the Colorado women’s basketball team’s 2023-24 roster.
Smith is a 6-foot-1 wing who has the chance to play a similar role to what Tayanna Jones, who’s now graduated, provided last season.
As a junior this past season, Smith upped her minutes to 21.7 per game while leading the Tigers with 6.7 rebounds per game. She also averaged 6.7 points on 43.8% shooting from the field.
Colorado seems to be loading up on options to fill its final starting spot beyond the core four of Aaronette Vonleh, Quay Miller, Frida Formann and Jaylyn Sherrod. Expect Smith to be in the thick of things this fall.
Head coach JR Payne added former Michigan guard Maddie Nolan this offseason as well.
