Both the Colorado men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their 2023-24 season on Monday evening with high expectations and talented rosters.
The women’s squad made a magical run to the Sweet 16 last March and the Buffs, who are ranked No. 18 in the coaches poll, are now ready to begin their new season with an opening night game against No. 1 LSU in Las Vegas as part of the Naismith Hall of Fame series. The defending national champion Tigers returned most of their team from last season and also added a few key pieces.
Colorado’s core from last season is also intact, though, and head coach JR Payne added two impact transfers in guards Maddie Nolan and Sara-Rose Smith as well.
