As announced Tuesday, the Colorado men’s basketball team will take on the Michigan State Spartans in the first round of the 2024 Maui Invitational.
The game will take place on the first day of the tournament on Monday, Nov. 25. ESPN2 will broadcast the 3 p.m. MT matchup. The winner will play the winner of UConn-Memphis while the loser will take on the loser of that same matchup.
The eight-team bracket rounds out with the Auburn Tigers playing the Iowa State Cyclones and the North Carolina Tar Heels playing the Dayton Flyers.
Michigan State will be the Buffs’ first big matchup of the year. Prior to CU’s fifth regular season game, head coach Tad Boyle’s new-look team will have seen zero teams from the ACC, SEC, Big East, Big 12 or Big Ten.
The Spartans went 20-15 last season and 10-10 in the Big Ten Conference. After earning a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament, they fell to North Carolina in the second round.
